SCHOOL COMMITTEE
NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED CLAIMS FOR NEW HIGH SCHOOL The chairman. Rev. A. C'. Hampton, presided a! the meeting at the Opotiki District High School Committee, which was held on Wednesday night. The following new members were appointed to the committee : Rev. A. is Attwood, Messrs. L. D. Duff and G. Peagram. Air. A’. J. inskip was unanimously elected secretary and treasurer. It was announced that-‘Miss Cooper has left the teaching staff, to take up a position near Wanganui, and that there is a possibility that an additional assistant will he appointed, making four now teachers at the beginning of tile term. A letter was received from the secretary of the Auckland Education Hoard in reply to a previous letter pressing the committee's claims for a new High School. Air. A. G. Hultquist, ALP., wrote on the sa.me subjectstating that'he was in constant communication with the Minister on the matter.
