Bay of Plenty District Young-: - Farmers’ Clubs took place d na on Mlonday evening, delegates from Edgecumbe, Whakatane, Taneatua, Wainiana and Opotiki being, present. In' the' absence of Mr. C. McCracken, area president, Mr. R. Fleming,- vicepresident, occupied the chair. Mr. McCracken (Edgecmnbe), -was unanimously re-elected presidehV^Mr. L. A. Macdonald (Nukuhou) was elected) vice-president, Mr. Fleming declining the position owing to. pressure of work aird other interests. ' The district secretary’s (Mr. C. Taylor, Dept, of Agriculture) report and balance sheet revealed a healthy state of affairs financially, and the solid interest being taken in the movement throughout the district by the younger members of the farming community. - Messrs. G. R. Kent, J. Reenberg (Whakatane), I. Gow (Edgecumbe )., A. F. Grace (Taneatua), D. G. Beattie (Opotiki). were elected senior members of the council. Messrs. Eric Thompson, B. Gilmore (chairman and secretary respectively) and D. G. Beattie (president), represented the Opotiki Young Farmers’ Club.
