BIG SPORTS DAY TO-MORROW RECORD MEETING EXPECTED . FIRST CLASS COMPETITION I'he big athletic meeting to be held cu the reserve at Opotiki to-morrow is expected to draw a big crowd of spectators. A, record! number of amateur athletes will be competing, including a number with exceptionally good performances. With such good quality athletes the various events arc sure to make for Very keen competition and a strong endeavour will be made to take the Moody Banner from the Gisborne Club. The Gisborne Club is sending over a big team, totalling 25 men and lady competitors. A new club to be represented will be Wliakatane, which was formed this year. Opotiki competitors are reminded that they must be financial and wear registered numbers. All officials will report at 1.10 p.m. The programme is a lengthy one and will be run off in quick order. \ An omission in the programme is the ladies hop, step and jump event.

The team will leave Gisborne at G. 30 a.m. to-morrow and should arrive in Opotiki at 10.30 o’clock.
