CHRISTMAS LATE NIGHT DEC ISIOX RECONSIDERED HALF-DA Y ON SATURDAY A further, and final, step in connection with the shopping-controversy, affecting the Into night and halt-holi-day in Christmas and New Year weeks, was taken by the Poverty Ray Drapers, Clothiers. ' Root Retailers, and Furnishers’ Association at a meeting held this week. 'The effect of the decision will be that all members of the association, and also a number of other retailers who share the association’s views in the matter of Christmas and Now Year trading, will observe the late nights in both weeks on Friday, and tin? weekly half-holiday on Saturday. The executive feels, however, that the representations made since the previous decision was made, prove beyond question that the interests of retailers, staffs, and the buying public will he best served by a return to the original decision.
