FORTNIGHTLY PIC SALE A CAPACITY YARDING Messrs. Dalgety and Company Liinitedj report having held their usual fortnightly pig sale at the Opotiki saleyards on the 3ist. October when a- capacity yarding came forward, weaners and slips \ predominating. Bat-oners came forward in better condition, many top weight pigs being yarded. Tanners generally showed themselves to lie very much in fear of the continued dry weather a.s weaners. and slips realised almost 30 per cent, less than at last sale. W« quote die following prices: Bat-oners, heavy, to £'3 12s; medium, £3 3s to £3 9s; lighter. £2 8s to £2 12s; stores. 30s to £2 2s ; slips, £1 to £1 us; weaners, 15s to 17s for extra good sorts; others, 12s to 15s; interior. 7s to 11s. The New Zealand; Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows : We had a very full yarding of pigs in .all classes, every available pen being occupied and we report a good sale. Bacon pigs and porkers show a decline according to schedule, while good store pigs were cheaper- Prices realised were: Prime heavy, baeoners, £V3 6s to ~3, 12s : heavy baeoners, £2 17s tc< £3 ; medium baeoners. £2 12s to £2 16s; prime porkers, £2 6s to £2 9s; medium porkers. £2 to £2 ns; good store pigs, 32s to 365; lighter sorts. 26s to 30s; good weaners, £1 tin £1 4s; smaller sorts, 14s to 18s; small weaners. 8s to 12s; heavy choppers. £3 to £3 12s; sows with litters, £2 7s to £3 lOs.
