MOTOR ACCIDENT

DELIVERY VAN AND TRUCK COLLISION IN BOROUGH A collision which occurred on the corner of Bridge Street and Goring Street attracted a large crowd yesterday during the lunch hour. The vehicles involved . were a bread; delivery van owned by Mr. G. B. Guthrie and driven by Mr. Allen Cameron, audi a large truck ownecl-’ by Mr. A. E. Reece' and driveii by Mr. Allen Lambert. The van was travelling in a southerly direcfioiL Goring Street, while the truck was travelling in 1 an easterly direction along Bridge Street. The blow was a severe one lessened to a large extent by the driver of the truck swerving his vehicle to travel in the same direction as the van. The truck came to rest in Goring Street with a sheet of iron which was ripped off the van clinging to its side. The van stopped in Bridge Street, the right hand side of the vehicle being badly smashed. , The driver of the van was fortunate to escape severe injury, receiving only a lacerated right hand, while the driver of the truck was uninjured. The van was extensively damaged but the damage to the truck was not so extensive.
