EXTRA HOUR IN BED
HOURS REDUCED FROM GO TO 48 LONDON, June 29. 'Thousands of women and girls and hoys under the age of 16. among Britain’s 6,C00,000 factory hands, started work this morning at 6 o’clock for the last time. In future they will have an extra hour in bed, for the new Factories Act decrees that‘the earliest starting tiin.e for women and young people shall he 7 aim. Their working hours, too, are reduced from GO to 48. a week.
