BIRTHDAY PARTY
Recently Mr H. I). Irwin, ‘>l AuokJ;hhl, celebrated his diamond jubilee birthday, and to mark the occasion lie j/HVe a party to a mindicr ol friends\|r Mnllan. on behalf of the company, made a speech of congratulation and presented Mr Irwin with two useful presents. Other members ol the company also contributed useful and valuable presents. Mr Mullnn, as chief spokesman, said that although they had known Mr Irwin hut a short time, they nevertheless soen recognised bis many good qualities. Mr Irwin replied in an eloquent and feeling manner and also gave five Shakespearean recitations, and one from Mrs Ileninns and another from liarnfield. Ihe i company kept nj> lesti vities until midnight and parted singing “For He’s A Jelly Good Follow”;
