WORKS OOMMITTEE REPORT Tile Following report was presented l>y file, works committee at the monthly meeting of the Upotiki Borough Council:— 36yds. of concrete footpath put clown in Church Street- and six gateway crossings concreted. Footpath Bridge Street edges levelled, rolled and grassed. 10 chains of footpath formed, levelled, metalled and rolled in Cord Street. 10 chain of road metalled in Albert- Street. TO chain in North Street. 10 chain in Buchanan Street. 1C chain in Ford Street. 5 chain St. John Street North. 4 chain Wellington Street West. Approximately o 0 yds. of river metal used ia patching various streets and gateways, also sides in Church Street. Intersections swept three times. Intersections patched with premix and Otara rock. Crown on portion ol Ford Street- West graded down. Beads and intersections have heen continually combed and graded. New slab crossings made in Richard and King Streets, -> iu\w pipe crossings made in Buchanan Street. 10 chains drain cleaned out in North Street and new crossing piit in. 7 chains drain in Wellington Street to Flood-gate cleared. 10 chains drain in Bridge Street cleaned out--18 chain new drain cut- in Buchanan Street. 10 chain of water table cut in Ford Street. Dam- scoured out and intake cleaned. Fire plugs cleaned. Various stopcocks have been repaired. Meters repaired--and new meter installed at P.W. .Department-. Blow-out repaired Otara. road. 8 chain of new fence put-up on Otara river bank at bathing sheds. Approximately 80vds. filling carted, levelled, fenced and gates etc. made ready for planting trees. Weeds chipped in Richard and St. John Streets and Potts Avenue. Corse cut in Forsyth and various other streets. Cemetery and Waitnngi Park etc-, kept mowed- • Premix, concrete pipes, bearers and slabs made at yard. General maintenance carried out.
