V ‘ WAIOTAHI MONTH t- i MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Waiotahi Women's Institute was held in the Waiotalii Hall on Wednesday, . September 14. After the Aspirations had been read, business was dealt With and the progi’amine lor' the afternoon was then taken over by the Woodlands Women’s Instiute, Mrs Noble presiding. The roll, call. “My first recollections of the district,” provided many very interesting reminiscences of .early days and means of transport. A novel Will game and two competitions caused much amusement.

The debate, Coal and Wood Ranges (Waiot.ahi) v- Electric Stoves (W podlands) was judged by Airs- Mail of Opotiki. who decided in favour of 'Waiotalii.

The monthly competitions were also judged by Airs. 3lail and resulted as follows : '

Best bowl of mixed flowers: Airs AY. L. Looney 1, 31iss B. Du Pontet 2. Best Bloom: Airs Cunningham l, x MVs AY. L. Looney 2.

Best A egetable: Aliss Aloore 1, 3lrs P. Loonev 2.

31rs C. White president of the Waiotalii W.I. proposed a hearty vote of ..thanks to the visitors, which was carried by acclamation, and presented posies to All's Noble and Airs Mail in appreciation of their work during the afternoon.

Afternoon tea was served' by the hostesses, Alesdames AA. L. Looney, Logan, Bachmann and Brown. The singing of the National Anthem concluded a very enjoyable afternoon.
