ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING
ST. STEPHEN THE MARTYR Some 30 members attended the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Stephen the M’artyr in the Parish Hall on Monday- night last. The Vicar, the Rev. G. G. G. Salt* presided. In liis report he pointed out the nrogress the Church had made during the year. The People’s Warden, Mr S. T. Keen, in presenting the report and balance sheet for the year ending June 30 last, said it .would be seen there was a small debit balance, but there were no outstanding accounts, and a substantial amount had been paid off the loan account, the revenue having increased by about £7O. He also thanked the advertisers to the •Church"'News for their loyal support. Mrs J. H. More 11, Sunday School superintendent' stated that,the Sunday School continued to improve with additional teachers, especially since the Diocesan Sunday School organiser, Miss Beattie’s visit before Easter, blit they arc somewhat. handicapped for the want of an additional room. Mrs W. Sinton, envelope secretary, reported the envelope subscribers were about the same as last year.
The president of the Mothers’ Lnion, Mrs G. Kent, reported an increase of . members and that the monthly meetings had been well attended ; also that a .presentation was made to the hall of a new concrete copper. Election of Officers. The following officers were elected: Vicar’s Warden, Mr W. S inton. People’s "Warden, Mr S. T. Keen. Vestry. Messrs C. L. Burton, A. S. de Montalk, E. C, East, It. D. Looney, N. J. C'. M’acdonakl', S. H. Williams.
Following the meeting supper was served bv the ladies.
