OBITUARY

MRS. J. Ms JOHNSON ** . r, '3.? * ’** « " The death occurred early yesterday morning of Mrs J. M. Johnson, in her Doth. year. Deceased was the widow of the late John '‘Grant "Johnson of Kamo, North Auckland, and has resided with her daughter, Mrs Eric Holman, for the past four years. Although latterly her sight and heai'ing were failing, the late Mrs Johnson re- _ tained a most remarkable memory to within a few weeks of her death. Her chief occupation in later years was in writing letters to her many friends. Deceased went through the stirring times of early, settlement in the north and could relate numerous stirring tales of those days. ~ The funeral will take place to-mor-row afternoon from the residence of Mrs E.. Ross, Wellington Street.
