OPOTIKI BEATEN The Vhakatohca tribal team representing the Opotiki district, holders ol the Katana Cup, were defeated hy r a team representing the Coast Maoris, nt Omaio op Saturday, the score's being; Coast 8 points, AVhakatohea 3 points.. Another Opotiki team visited Mfatawni to play the Motu l nion representatives. Unfortunately a nmnher of the Opotiki players lailed to put in an appearance and a very weak team was sent away. The Motu representatives won this match l>v l(i points to 3. Opotiki’s only score being a penalty kick by Starkey.
