DEPUTATION FRO AI BOROUGH CO A lAN TT EE FORA 1El) A deputation from the Borough Council, consisting of Councillors F. W. Bridger, G. L. Day and C. D. Brown, waited on the County conned to-day in connection with the proposed Plunket and ladies’ rest rooms. Cr Bridger said that some years ago an agreement had been arrived at hut that scheme had been dropped in lavour of a major scheme. Now the major scheme ha 1 been dropped in favour of the rest ami Plunket rooms. Cr. Bridger suggested that a joint committee be appointed, consisting of representatives from both councils, the Plunket Society. W j men’s Institute and Farmers’ Union. Crs Day and Brown also spoke in support of .the proposal, asking the council to carry on where it lclt off before the town hall scheme. Mr Gault said that no definite agreement had been made but the council would go into> the matter.
After the deputation had retired tlu* council went into committee, it was finally decided to appoint Air Gault and Cits Black and. Heel ley to discuss the matter with the* Borough Council.
