“NEW ZEALAND BOYS CAME”
SYDNEY SHOW THRILLS UNLUCKY IN THE DRAW “The New Zealand boys behaved well, and proved themselves game enough for anything,” states Mr Thos. B. Maefarlane, the well-known Sydney Show official, in a letter to the president of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association, Mr J. C. Graham, on the representation of the Dominion in the rodeo fixtures at the recent Sydney. Royal Show. The team from the Dominion was unlucky in the draw for horses, it appears from Mr Maefarlane’s letter. as they drew seme of the worst bucking horses in Australia, including one which Mr Maefarlane had never seen ridden when mounted for the first time, at any carnival. J his horse, though possessing less stamina than formerly, was still good enough to test any rider in the world, firsttime cut of the chute.
Thrills and spills for the delectation ctf the Sydney • Show crowds were provided by the. New Zealanders, for whom the Trip, in Mr. Maefarlane’s opinion. Should prove a wonderful education. ’• \
