Arthur, only son of Mr and Mi's S. Al,. Jephson, of Waioeka, Opotiki. Rev. A. C. Hampton officiated and Mrs A. H. Hilfcpd presided at the organ.
The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride and ’groom with flowers and greenery. The bride who was given, away by her father wore a lovely gown of niagnolia angel-skirt lace, exquisite in its simple elegance. Fashioned on princess lines which clung to the figure, the rich lace of the gown fell from the back waist line in graceful folds to form a. long train. The simple bodice was finished with a Peter Pan collar adorned with a dainty brooch of or-ange-blossoms and the long tight-fit-ting sleeves were slightly gathered and stiffened at the shoulder line finishing in points over the hands. The hemline, train, and . sleeve edges were studded here and there with tiny seed pearls and a wide plaited girdle of pearls finished the waist line. Her beautiful embroidered tulle veil fell in billowy folds from a charmingly arranged heau-clress of orange blossom's worn well back on the head. The lovely bouquet was of white; cyclamen and orchids with sprigs of maiden hair fern, finished with ivory satin ribbons. Ivory satin shoes were worn. Attending the bride was hot sister. Miss Doily Moody, as chief bridesmaid and -Misses Nui Hawkins and Kathleen Jephson, the bridegroom's sister. They wore dainty frocks of marquisette fashioned oil similar lines. Miss Dolly Moody’s frock was in lavender while those of the supporting ’maids deepened to cyclamen and a light parina violet, shade. ilie simplicity, of the frocks was relieved by deep tucks from the square neck-line to hem. The frocks fitted the figures to the knees where they fell in full Hares to the ankles. Short logo’-mut-tou sleeves were favoured and shoulder sprays of three flowers in the shades of the three gowns, were worn. The attractive and new head dresses were shoulder veils arranged from two flowers on the head. The yens were tucked at the hem to correspond with the frocks. Dainty satin slices in tiic tonings of the frocks and charming bracelets of matching coloured stones, the gifts of the bridegroom, completed the charming outfits. They carried dainty posies of mixed Hoivers in tones of lavender, with violets predominating.
Air Bui Hawkins, as best-man, and Alessrs J. Haeusler and K. Fleming, as groomsmen attended the bridegroom. After the ceremony a- reception was held at the Afasonic Hall where the decorations were carried out in shades of la vender and pink. Airs J. J. Moody, the bride’s mother, received the guests which numbered about seventy, wearing a charming frock el beige lace with brown hat and accessories, and a dainty shoulder spray of violets. Airs S. At. Jephson, the bridegroom’s mother iavoured a smart navy blue lace redingote. over a floral frock with navy blue hat and accessories. She carried a lovely bouquet of scarlet gerberas, salvias and begonias. relieved with maiden-hair fern. The usual'toasts were honoured and many congratulatory telegrams read. Later the bridal party and guests adjourned to the home of Air and Airs J. J. Moody where the happy couple were farewelled on their honeymoon. In the evening the guests wore entertained at a, jolly party at -Mr and All's -Moody’s home.
Air and Afirs Jephson juiir. ‘left by private ear on their honeymoon tom to Gisborne'en route lor an extensive tour of Hawke’s Bay etc. All’s Jephson travelled in a smart outfit of bottle green with gold' leather trimmings, green felt hat and accessories to tone.
