GARDENING CIRCLE 'file monthly meeting of the W ai-mana-Nukuhou Women’s Institute Gardening Circle was held last J uosclay afternoon. The members met at the Church, and did quite a Jot of clearing round shrubs and 'planted hedge cuttings. It was decided to purchase another “Virginian” creeper to be planted against the wall of the front porch of the Church. The president, All’s Jerram, read an article on growing bulbs in fibre, the circle deciding to grow ‘“freesias” in fibre for a competition. The competition for the day was the best flower from a member’s garden. The winners were: Airs Burnett (dahlia) 1, Airs King 2, Airs Jerram 3. The members then adjourned to the residence of Airs Addison for a Iternoon tea, Airs. Jerram being hostess. A pleasant afternoon closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Airs 'Addison and Airs Jerram. PERSONALS Airs Frear, of AVaiuku, is visiting Waimaua and, is the guest of her sister, Airs T. W. AVardlaw, “Greenmeadows”. Waimana. Air Al. Alanuinn, postmaster, AYaijnana, accompanied by All's Alanniou, is leaving tor- his annual holiday this week.
