Holiday Notice. The “News’’ office will be closed from Friday to Holiday inclusive. The Opotiki News will not b e published on Good Friday or Easter Monday: Big Dance. A big dance will be held in the Lyric Hall on Easter Monday, under the '‘auspices of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows. Pig Sale, Farmers are reminded that the next pig* sale will be held at the Opotiki salevards on Wednesday next, when 350 pigs will be offered for sale. Basketball Association. The annual meeting of the Opotiki Basketball Association, will be held in the school on Wednesday next, commencing at 7.30 f p.nu Land Court. The sitting of the Native Land Court in Opotiki was postponed from Monday last to Wednesday, May 4tli. Deputation to Member. A deputation representing the Opotiki Rod and Gun Club consisting of Messrs J. A. McCaldon, G. L. Day and R. Mcllwraith. waited on Mr Hultquist on Monday night prior to the political meeting and placed before him various requests. The matters discussed were concerning the opening date, the releasing of pheasants and trout fry and other club matters, which received a very attentive hearing. The results of Air Hultqnist’s efforts, on behalf of the club will be awaited with interest by a large number of sportsmen.
