In addition to many personal messages of congratulations from local business people and others, several congratulatory letters have been received. „ The following is an extract from a letter • received from M!l* A. G. Hultquist, 31. P. “I desire to acknowledge receipt of your first issue of the “Opocixd News” and thank you for same. I feel-that 1 would be tailing to give credit where credit is due if I did not congratulate you on vour combined initiative and enterprise. The paper is, in fay opinion, an excellent first edition and I am looking forward to receiving a copy of subsequent issues. I wish you the best of luck and success in your efforts to serve Opotiki in the manner you aim and by the .methods you outline in your first editorial article. Good link and success.” A paragraph in a recent issue of the “Te Puke Times” reads:--“We have received a copy of the first issue of “The Opotiki News” published in Opotiki by Messrs. Roe and Payne. The publication is a. bright and newsy one. well laid out and clearly printed. It is a distinct credit to the proprietors and publishers, and will fill a long-felt- want in the local life of 0potiki. The name “The Opotiki News 1 implies a local paper to give a. local service of happenings in and about Opotiki and district, and should on this account he of invaluable service to advertisers and the pubis? generally. Wp wish the proprietors success in their venture.
