VALEDICTORY
MR. J. LIST PRESENTATION MADE The clerk of the Opotiki Court, Air. J. List, who has been transferred to the AVhakatane. Court, was the recipient of a presentation at a pleasing little function at the Opotiki Courthouse, when representatives of the local police force, legal profession and justices gathered to farewell Air. lust. Those present were: ALessrs. G. B. Murray, N. i A r . Hodgson. E. C. East (legal profession). Constables Beasley and Cooper and Air. C. Pipe (justices). All those present- expressed regret at the departure of Air. List, who lias proved himself to be a popular official. Air. C. Pipe, in making a. presentation of a case of pipes and pouch of tobacco, thanked Air. List for his assistance and courtesy during liis term at Opotiki. and while expressing regret at his departure, hoped that he would continue to make advancement in the future. Air. List suitably responded.
Air. List left- for AATiakatane yesterday. he has been succeeded by Air. A. E. Johnston from Napier, who has arrived- in Opotiki to take up his duties.
