OBITUARY

M3S. MARY KELLY The? do at.i occurred on Saturday morning. utli. inst. at the residence of her daughter. Airs C. 1). Hopkins, ivingslami. Auckland, of Airs Mary Ki !1 v in her seventy-eighth year. The late Mrs Kelly teas one of the oldest residents of Cpotiki. Born in Melbourne. she came to New Zealand as a. child with her parents, Air and Airs Alark Alolloy. Finally the family settled in Opotiki where tlu*f late Airs Kelly’s marriage to John Kelly took place. She was pre-deceased by her husband, who was the victim of a tragic -drowning accident at Ohiwa Harbour, some thirty-six years ago. From girlhood to just a few months ago. when her health began to fail, the late Airs,Kelly had been a. respected citizen of Opotiki. She leaves an adult family of five sons and six daughters to mourn their loss: Messrs John, ‘William. Edmund., Robert and James Kelly, all of Opotiki, Alesdames H. Barnett, of Aria, A. Hlitt. of Opotiki. A. Thorbuni. of Holonsville. O. 1). Hopkins, of Auckland, C.'S. Morris, of Opotiki, and S. L. Oreig. of Kaukapaknpa. The funeral of the late Airs. Mary Kelly took place at the Opotiki C'ometerv to-day, the. Rev. Father Brady conducting the service at the graveside. The large cortege and many beautiful floral emblems was evidence of the love and high respect in which the late All's Kelly was held .by all.
