SLIGO SCHOLARSHIP

LODGE’S ANNUAL AWARD The Sligo Scholarship, conducted by the Otago District M.U.1.0.0.F. in conjunction with the Otago Education Board, has been awarded this year to Neil M. Munro, of Ngapara, with 85.1 per cent, second place being taken by Phyllis E. Clarke, of Dunedin, with 76.4 per cent. The scholarship is open to children under 14 years of age who are sons or daughters of members of lodges in the district. This year’s winner is the third member of his family to win a scholarship, two sisters having gained the award previously, one in 1943 and one in 1944. Entrants from country districts this year gained seven of the first eight positions.
