National Sales No fewer than 71 sires will be represented at the national thoroughbred sales at Trentham in January when 519 yearlings will be offered from 301 Dominion studs. Nineteen stallions, 13 of them English bred, will be represented for the first time. The catalogue includes a large number of close relations to some of the outstanding performers on the Dominion turf and the sales should attract a record attendance of those in search of champions of the future. Catalogues will be available at an early date. Challenge Stakes This season as a four-year-old Majesty has had only two starts, winning the Shorts Handicap, of seven furlongs, at Ellerslie, with 8.11, easing up and running unplaced in the Spring Handicap, of one mile and a-quarter, with 9.0. Altogether he has earned £7140 in stakes. Up to a mile Majesty has shown brilliance above the average and he might go to even greater heights before the current season is over. He has been galloping brilliantly at Takanlni and is to meet Sleepy Fox and others at weight-for-age, with allowances in the Challenge Stakes, of seven furlongs at Avondale to-day.
