SOCCER IN BRITAIN
FIRST DIVISION HEADED BY ARSENAL Rec 8 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 1. Arsenal, which has headed the First Division Association football table since the beginning of the season, had its unbroken succession of 17 league competition victories broken by Derby County, which has been undefeated in 10 successive matches. Arsenal has now 29 points in the first division table. Burnley is second with 24 and Derby County third with 23. West Bromwich is heading the table in Division Two with 27 points, Birmingham is second with 26 and Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle are third equal with 25 each. Hibernian is leading the Scottish League First Division by a single point with Patrick and Rangers next in order. In England the first round of the Football Association Cup competition is now being played.
