SUPPLY OF BEER
WEST COAST STOCKS STATEMENT BY BREWERY MANAGERS The manager of the Dunedin brewery which was threatened with having any of its products destined for other parts of New Zealand declared “ black ” until such time as the West Coast’s remaining sixpenny hotel had been guaranteed adequate stocks, when approached by the Daily Times yesterday to confirm the statement that the needs of the Westland Hotel would be met, made the following statement:— “ There is really no comment to make except to say that we are treating the Greymouth district as a whole no differently from any other part of New Zealand. The difficulties of supply which we have experienced over recent years and the shortage of casks obviously make it very difficult for us to give any definite assurances to any customers, but our policy has always been to supply each district on a fair and equitable basis according to the supplies which we can get away. We hope to continue this policy.”
