SERIOUS PROBLEM
DISTRIBUTION OF AMERICAN MEAT SUPPLIES Rec. 9 p.m. WASHINGTON, Dec. 1. If Congress granted the power the Administration would consider restoring price control and the rationing of meat at once, the Secretary of Commerce, Mr Averell Ilarriman, told the House Banking Committee to-day. He described the meat distribution problem as “the greatest difficulty to-day,” and added that the anticipated shortage of meat next, spring might set off an inflationary spiral that would be very serious.
