FRENCH TEAM’S PROJECTED VISIT

P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The prospects of arranging a French Rugby Union tour of New Zealand this coming season are bright, said Mr G. A. Maddison, a member of the New Zealand Rugby Union Council, in an interview. Mr Maddison, who recently visited Paris in company with Mr F. E. Sutherland, another member of the New Zealand Union, said that' transport arrangements for the.,party, which would number 30, presented considerable difficulties, but it was hoped that these could be overcome. If shipping passages were not available it might be possible to fly the team to New Zealand. The present plans provide that the Frenchmen should arrive in May and end the tour in October.
