POSSIBILITY OF CONTROL IN AMERICA WASHINGTON, Nov. 29. The United States Secretary of Commerce, Mr Averill Harriman, told the Senate House Economics Committee that in addition to limited allocation and priority powers over steel, his de partment was planning to investigate the feasibility of bringing newsprint, textiles and other materials under similar control. ' Mr Harriman said the newsprint shortage probably would continue for some time. Controls would not solve the problem, but would help.
