ARCHBISHOP’S PLEA
SACRED PLACES IN PALESTINE JEWISH AGENCY NOT TRUSTED LONDON, Nov 30. The Archbishop of York, Dr Garbett in a plea for international control of the whole of Jerusalem and Nazareth, writes in a diocesan letter: “We cannot rely on the Jewish State giving adequate protection or showing impartial justice to Christians or Arabs The deplorable failure of the Jewish Agency even now to prevent the cruel and treacherous murders of our young soldiers has justified the alarm felt at its demand that a great part of Jerusalem shall be incorporated in the new State.’’
