INDIANS ROUTED
UNPREDICTABLE WICKET AUSTRALIAN BOWLERS’ FIELD DAY Rec. 11 p.m. BRISBANE, Dec. 1. India were routed by Australia today for their lowest test score of 58 after Australia had declared with 382 for eight wickets. “Pocket handkerchief ’’ test wicket covers let overnight rain ruin the wicket, which was fiery and unpredictable. It was not as bad as the first test wicket for England last season, but the attack was better. Lindwall started the procession with two wickets in the first over. Toshack came on later to take five for 2 from 2.3 overs. Australia lost wickets
quickly after Bradman was dismissed for 185, but Miller gave a grand display of hitting. He hit three 6’s and this morning a 4 for an innings of 58. Scores: —
