FEDERATED FARMERS

Monthly Meeting Mr W. Doig presided at the monthly meeting of the North Otago branch of Federated Farmers yesterday. Mr Doig was appointed the branch representative on the Immigration Welfare Committee. A remit from Weston-Totara-Kakanui—- “ That the farmers express concern at the inability to purchase plough socks and suitable steel and drawbars for repairs, and request that the matter be investigated,” was referred to the Dominion Executive. A second remit from Weston-To.tara-Kakanui was—That farmers were concerned with tiie standard of some New Zealand-made farm machinery, and the high price of that machinery.” During the discussion it was explained that the quality of materials available for the making of machinery was not of high standard, and that manufacturers found it impossible to manufacture high standard machinery.—The remit was referred to the Dominion Executive.
