WEDDING AT ALL SAINT’S

Holmes—Ross

Tlie wedding of Nola Ruth, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Ross, of Tauranga, to Frank Wakefield, son of Mr and Mrs J. F W Holmes, took place in All Saints’ Church, Dunedin, on Tuesday. Both bride and bridegroom are well known in University circles. Archdeacon Whitehead performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a long-sleeved gown of white crepe with an unusual shoulder yoke, and a full skirt gathered on to a very low waistline. Her veil of white tulle was held in place by a coronet of real orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses, sweet peas, and gladioli. The bridesmaids, Miss Annette Tonkin and Miss Barbara Angus, were dressed alike in deep turquoise blue crepe, with fitted hip-length bodices, cap sleeves and full skirts Their bouquets were of crimson roses and sweet peas, and they wore matching sprays in their hair. The best man was Mr J. R. Hay. of Blenheim, and the groomsman Mr A G. Ritchie. At the reception in the Crawford Lounge the guests were received by Mrs J. VV. Ross, wearing a smart black and white suit, and by Mrs J. F. W. Holmes, who looked charming In a beige two-piece suit with a toque of brown straw. Mr and Mrs Wakefield Holmes, grandparents of the bridegroom, were present at the wedding.
