SELECTIONS FOR AVONDALE Special to the Dally Times AUCKLAND, Nov. 27. The weather has been fine and warm and unless there is rain the course will be fast for the opening of the Avondale Jockey Club’s second spring meeting on Saturday. It is probable that the Apprentices’ Handicap will have to be run in two divisions. Horses likely to find favour include: — 10.50: Rangitoto Hurdles.—Duncari, Cornell Observatory. 11.35: Apprentices’ Handicap.—First division: Faithful Knight, Prince Chat, Portland Bay. Second division: Antonio, Omar Khayyam, Pleasant Bay. 12.20: Nihotupu Handicap.—Master Coronach, Foxbay, Demonic. 1.10: Bollard Memorial Handicap.—Balgowan, Balmacara, Hunting Rua. * 1.55: Avondale Stakes.—Tauloch, Regality, Chubin. 2.40: Members’ Handicap.—Ruling Prince, Quick March, Censor. 3.25: Sheriff Handicap.—Shirley Fox, Neenah, Cambria.
4.15: Electric Handicap.—Double Chance, Silk Thread, Bouquet.
