COMMISSION FOR ASIA
NEW ZEALAND INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP Rec. 11 p.m. MANILA, Nov. 26. The familiar pattern of Russian obstructionism dominated the first day’s business in the, session of the Elevennation Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East in Beguio yesterday, says the New York Times correspondent. The Russian delegates, however, were blocked in every issue that came to the vote.
Over persistent Russian sniping, the commission adopted a 16-point provisional agenda which included consideration of working arrangements with the Allied control authorities in Japan and Korea. One of the few items which did not meet with Russian objections was a resolution to ask the United Nations Economic and Social Council, which is the parent body of the commission, to include New Zealand in full membership, making 12. This resolution was passed.
