SALE OF WOOL

THE AUCKLAND AUCTION OFFICIAL RANGE OF PRICES t P.A. AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. The Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association official report on the wool sale held on Friday sdates: —“The wool opened up well, but the average clip was not as attractive as similar wool at the corresponding sale last season. Favourable shearing weather, combined with prospects of high prices, encouraged many growers who normally do not shear until November to shear earlier to catch this fixture. These wools were shorter in staple, lacked evenness of style, dust was more noticeable, and there was subsequent lowering of the yield. Notwithstanding this, there was an appreciable number of clips which were quite up to last season’s standard, and which realised above -the sale average.” The report continued that good, bright hogget wool of finer qualities realised from 31d to 33d and similarly attractive ewe and wether wools brought from 25d to 28d. The lines realising these prices were exceptionally well skirted and classed. The highest priced wools in the sale fell to the bids of Dominion mills. The official range of prices is:—
