YOUTH REMANDED
SERIOUS CHARGES PREFERRED Charges of attempted rape and rape were preferred against William Albert Max Jackson, an apprentice, aged 19, of Mosgiel, who appeared in the City Police Court yesterday before Hr J. D. Willis, S.M. The first offence vas alleged to have occurred at Mosgie. Junction on March 2 last, and the second on November 9, at Mosgiel. Chief Detective T. Y. Hall, who said that the offences were admitted by the accused, applied for a remand until November 27. This was granted by the m An St application by counsel,' Mr J. B Thompson, for bail was allowed in the sum of £l5O, with one surety of £l5O. Mr Willis said he understood that the accused would be under the supervision of his uncle until the case was heard.
