TRAFFIC BREACHES
MOTORISTS FINED CITY POLICE COURT Breaches of the traffic regulations resulted in fines being imposed on 28 motorists in the City Police Court yesterday. Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., was on the bench. More than half the oases involved infringements of the parking restrictions, and seven defendants were charged with exceeding the speed limit. Fines were imposed on the following defendants for exceeding 30 miles an hour: —David John Lee (£2 and costs 10s), William Alexander Russell (£3 and costs 10s), Edward York Robinson (£2 10s and costs 10s), Alfred Edward Silver (£2 and costs 10s), Hector Loudon Strang (£3 and costs 10s), Raymond Thomas (£3 and costs 10s), and Andrew Hugh Todd (30s and costs 10s). , For driving without due care and attention, fines were imposed on Stanley Robert Phillips (£2, costs 16s, witnesses expenses £1). Noel Lindsay Garden (£3, costs 10s), and Wales Hill (£2, costs 10s) Allan Edward Hardman was fined £3 (costs 16s, and witnesses’ expenses 10s) for driving without reasonable consideraFor having no, driver’s licence, William Alfred Little was fined 10s and costs (10s) and was ordered to pay costs only for not having a current warrant of fitness. Laurence Thomson Hodgson was fined £3 and costs (12s) for overtaking a vehicle on the near side. . For parking over the time limit, fines oi 10s and costs (10s) were imposed on Leslie Herbert Boyd, Roger Bevan Dodds, Eric Neil Elder. Leslie Andrew Halcrow, Charles Morgan Lewis, Thomas James John Morrison, Catherine Evelyn Muirhead and Gordon Spence Sanderson. For parking in prohibited areas fines of 10s and costs (10s) were imposed on Allvn Mason Finlayson, Frank La Hood. Clara Marion Paape. Will Brown Paterson Henry Adolphus Schmelz and Alexander Bennett Walker. Frank La Hood was also fined 10s and costs (10s) for not parking parallel to the kerb, and Noel Malcolm Miller was fined 10s and costs (10s) for parking too near an intersection.
