I cannot give the present-day figures, but the pre-war Catholic contribution in taxation to the State system of education was annually £360.000' They also educated 20,000 children in their own schools, thus saving the Government £200,000-yearly; therefore this enormous sum of money Contributed yearly - was £560,000.
