YOUTH INJURED
FALL THROUGH VERANDA Joseph Spiers, aged .20, broke his right arm when he fell through the veranda roof on to the pavement outside Woods Hotel, Rattray street, yesterday. He lives at 290 d King street. He was admitted to hospital at 1.45 p.m. LACERATED HAND A lacerated left hand, which necessitated his admission to hospital at 3.10 p.m. yesterday, was suffered by Aaron McGrath, aged 16, of 16 Nelson street, when he caught his hand in some machinery at Donaghy’s Rope and Twine Works. DROWNING TRAGEDY P.A. AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. An electrician, Frederick Nicholas Lindblom (47), of Symonds street, fell into the harbour from the gangway of the steamer Northumberland at the Princes wharf last night, and was drowned. He was going ashore after visiting acquaintances in the ship, and was seen to fall by the quartermaster on watch. A member of the crew went down a rope and recovered the body. A verdict of death by drowning was returned at the inquest to-day.
