PROFESSIONAL BOXING
ELLUL TO MEET CRUICKSHANK The Otago Boxing Association will hold a professional boxing match of 12 rounds in the Town Hall on Monday next between Vince Ellul, of Australia and lan Cruickshank, the New Zealand weltei weight champion. The pair have met on one previous occasion, when Cruickshank. with a badly-cut eye, was outpointed in a splendid contest. Ellul is an experienced boxer, having won 40 ot his 46 contests, most of them against worthy opponents. He is a scientin? boxer and a hard and spectacular fightei. Cruickshank has been defeated once only as a professional, and is anxious to avenge his defeat by Ellul His hard punching and aggressive fightmg have made him popular in the North Island, where his services are always in demand. A team of amateurs is being brought from Wellington to meet the local boxers, and a good ■ night's sport is assured. The box plan is at Jacobs’s.
