JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
At the monthly meeting of the board of the Dunedin Junior Chamber of Commerce, Mr J. C. Scoular, chairman of the Projects Committee, stated that it had been considered advisable to postpone the calling of the initial meeting of the Safety Council until after the municipal elections. The meeting would definitely take place before the close of the year. ” Century,” the chamber's centennial brochure, was reported to be in process of printing, and it was stated that there was no doubt that the finished publication would exceed the highest hopes of the b °Mr* S. G. Cook reported on inquiries instituted regarding police boys’ clubs, and Mr C I Hobbs was authorised to discuss the matter fully with Rotary, with a view to establishing such clubs in Dunedin. Advice was received from the national body that the February issue of New Zealand Jaycee, the National Junior Chamber magazine, would be devoted largely to the Otago centennial. A sub-committee was set up to devise ways and means of increasing the membership of the chamber, bearing in mind the policy of the board to encourage members from the trades and crafts.
