TRAFFIC OFFENCES
FINES INFLICTED A list of traffic offences was dealt with bv Mr G. J. Errington, J.P., and Mr T. D. Jamieson, J.P., in the City Police Court Merry Barker, for driving without proner care, was fined £2, costs (IQs). For failing to .give way to the right, James Challis was fined £2,, COS J® and on charges of driving without proper care and making a false statement to the nollce Leslie John Hesford. who was represented bv Mr J. G. Warrington, was fined £2 and £3, with costs (10s) on each charge. For parking in prohibited a *^ as ’ Waiter Wallace McDonald Mid John Morrison Ringland were each fined 10s. costs Daniel O’Connell and Douglas Gordon Scott were each 1 £2, and costs (10s). and 10s. and costs (lOsl for not giving way to traffic apnroaching on the right and for not possessing a warrant of fitness for their mo or vehicles. Two fines of £2. and c °f*s (10s) were inflicted on Joseph Ronald Sm th for exceeding 30 miles per hour in a city s tr~»t and not giving way to traffic on tile ri David Edward Green and Noel Cameron Irvine were charged with not possessing drivers’ licences when in control of a motor vehicle. The former was fined £1 and costs (10s). and the latter 10s. C °Charlcs Gordon Jennison, for whom Mr F W Guest appeared, was fined 30s, and costs (10s), for not keeping to the left of the road, and Athol McKeag for not having a warrant of fitness, was fined 10s, and costs (10s). Chimney Fire Joseph Henry Turner was fined 10s, costs (10s), for allowing a chimney to catch fire.
