VISIT TO AUSTRALIA BY ROYAL COUPLE EXPECTED NEXT YEAR
Rec. 9 p.m. CHICAGO, Nov. 10. Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant Mountbattfen are expected to make a State visit to Australia early next year, says the London correspondent of the Chicago Tribune, who. quotes court circles. The trip may start an Empire tour, which the King and Queen wanted their daughter as heir to the Throne to make after the war. The correspondent adds that the royal couple had to. reject any suggestion for an overseas honeymoon to conform with the Labour Government's ban on pleasure travel abroad. The State visit to Australia would be considered work, not play, and tould be undertaken after a reasonable wait to allay possible criticism.
