MINING NEWS BIG RIVER REPORT The following Is the Big River Gold Mines, Ltd,,* report for September:— Thirty-seven tons of stone were produced from No. 5 winze stopc. Going south, the face of stone has increased in width, being now six feet wide. Prospecting was carried on in No. 1. No. 4 and No. 6 levels, without anything of value being disclosed as yet. No. 7 level was advanced 48 feet for the month, making a total driven of 135 feet, leaving 50 feet to go to reach the ore channel. GILLESPIE’S RETURN The Gillespie’s Beach Gold Dredging Company, Ltd.’s, wash-up for the week ended October 5 was 420 z 14dwt for 134 hours’ work (16,509 cubic yards). The Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand has to-day been officially advised by the Reserve Bank that to the extent that New Zealand holders of shares domiciled outside New Zealand desire to take up rights which they may have in respect of further issues of overseas shares by companies in which they are already shareholders, such holders will be permitted to dispose of their shares in the same company or in any other company of the same domicile to provide .the amount required for that purpose.
