COMBINED EX-GIRLS

SERVICE GROUP’S DANCE Despite the economy with which the Combined Ex-girls’ Service Group planned its dance on Tuesday night there was nothing inadequate about any of the arrangements The resultant funds will be devoted to war purposes. The Crawford Lounge, simply but effectively decorated with tall baskets of flowering currant and spring flowers was a fitting background for a number of lovely evening gowns. As an interlude the many dancers were entertained with choruses by five members of the R.N.Z.A.F., and other diversions were a Monte Carlo and a lucky spot competition, the winners being Miss McLellan and Mr Ballantyne, and Miss Wilson and Mr Gibson respectively. During the third last dance the throng made merry with paper snowballs painted red, white and blue. Supper was served buffet fashion.

The president received her guests wearing a gown of del blue shot taffeta with an overskirt of embroidered net in the same shade.
