TOWN HALL DANCE

WELL ATTENDED FUNCTION POPULAR HAWAIIAN NUMBERS The large crowd of dancers and spectators who attended last Saturday night’s weekly Town Hall Dance had plenty to entertain and delight them. A well-varied programme of dances, both modern and old-time, was provided, and first-class music was supplied by Dick Colvin’s Band. As usual, there was an entertaining programme of special numbers that included exhibitions of the Hawaiian hula and Charleston dances by Mr C. Murray, and tap dances by Miss Daphne Baxter. Five vocalists —Miss Irene Brookes, Messrs James Macfarlane, Arthur Waller, George Thorne and Jack Priestly—also assisted to make the dance an even more enjoyable function than usual.
