TOMATO ASPIC One quart stewed tomatoes, 2 teaspoons salt, 2 tablespoons castor sugar, 1 medium-sized onion, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons gelatine, \ cup cold water, 4 cloves. Place tomatoes and onion, finely minced, in a saucepan and simmer gently for half an hour. Add seasonings and mix well. Rub all through a sieve. Dissolve the gelatine in a little cold water, and add to the mixture. Add more water if required to make the quantity up to one quart liquid. Turn into small moulds rinsed out of cold water, and chill. Serve with lettuce salad. RIPE BANANA CAKE One cup sugar, k cup butter, 1 cup mashed bananas, h cup milk, 1$ cups flour, 1 egg, 1 teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda, and a pinch of salt. Cream the butter, sugar, and bananas, then add the unbeaten egg. After that add the milk with the soda dissolved in it. Mix in the flour and salt. Bake for one hour.-
