TAIERI POULTRY SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING r ; There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Taieri Poultry Society on Saturday night. ' The president (Mr J. Friend) submitted a report on the activities of the past year, and Mr George Hendry presented the balance sheet. Both docu-; ments were regarded as satisfactory, and were adopted after a short discussion.

The following office-bearers were elected: —President. Mr J. Friend; vicepresident. Mr A. Walker; committee— Messrs S. Eiach and W. Wood were added to last year’s committee; Schedule Committee—Messrs J. Mitchell. G. Smeaton. J. P. Walls, J. Williamson. and the president and secretary; auditors, Messrs John Williamson and J. P. Walls.

The date for the next show will be June 29. For this event it was decided to hold four championships—drake or duck, other than Indian Runner or Pekin; utility Wyandotte laced, other than silver; homer pigeon, hen, 275 miles or over; lemon budgerigars. At a committee meeting held after the annual meeting the sum of £1 Is was voted to the fund for the women’s rest room and Plunket room in Mosgiel.
