CIVIL SERVICE CLUB With a good attendance the Civil Service Club ran from the St. Kilda Bathing Pavilion. The fast pack, under Captain Gerken, went for a fast nonstop run to Tomahawk, via Lovers lane, returning round Lawyers Head and along the Ocean Beach home. In the run home Whittleston showed good form in running in first from W. Mackinnon and Gerken. The road runners were feeling the effects of last week s race, but W. Mackinnon and N. Coutts appeared to be very fit, and should be close up in next week’s race. Deputy Captain Williams took the slow pack over practically the same course as the fast pack. A steady pace was maintained throughout, but a fast run home was held, with Fox finishing just ahead of Wheeler and Griffin. Mr M’Kernan took the colts for a more leisurely run to Tomahawk, via the Ocean Beach. Next week the club will be represented in the Modified Marathon Road Race by Coutts, Mackinnon, and Barnes. These runners were the first three_ for the club to finish last week, and it is expected that they will make a bold bid for the teams’ race next Saturday, and so retain the Nickels Cup. ANGLICAN CLUB The Anglican Club held its final run for the season from the North-East Valley School. From the school the pack, under Harrier Captain Logan, climbed the hill, the Signal Hill road, thence along the new road. The ridge was followed to a point above the Fever Hospital, the pack then descending to Logan Park and climbing the hill again past the rifle range to Grand View. Signal Hill road was again followed for a short distance, the trail branching down hill directly to the school. No run home was held.
