SOCIAL WORK AMONG YOUNG MEN.

Commissioner Hodder, accompanied by members of his Headquarters Staff, conducted an open-air ceremony at tho Red Shield Club yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of the public. Tho object of tlie club is to cater for the moral and social welfare of youths. Rooms are provided for games and for literary and musical purposes,•• and there is a special room for returned 6oldiers. The Committee of Management oonsists of local citizens and an Army official. The cost of furnishing the club, etc., is supplemented by local contributors. The institution is the first of its kind under the Army jurisdiction, and probably 'similar institutions will be opened in other centres.
